We celebrated the end of a successful 2013 with our Annual Potluck Christmas Luncheon at Christ Presbyterian Church.

The 2013 Annual Book Sale ​was ​a great success.

BRANDING

2013

THE YEAR OF SIGNAGE, BROCHURES, A FACEBOOK PAGE, A NEW DYNAMIC WEBSITE, APRONS AND COFFEE CUPS WITH THE FOL LOGO, ELECTRONIC DIGITAL SIGNS FOR THE BOOKSTORE, AND MORE ... A $50,000 ANONYMOUS DONATION TO START AN ENDOWMENT FUND AT NEW BRAUNFELS AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.  

AND, OF COURSE, OUR TRADITIONAL FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES.  

THE RESULT? FUNDING FOR INNOVATIVE, EXCITING PROGRAMS FOR THE LIBRARY LIKE 1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN.

Co-Presidents Nancy Serebrenik and Susie Waters hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Tea Honoring Past Presidents at The Grande in Historic Milltown.  MANY THANKS TO THE OWNERS OF THE GRANDE, Mary and Eddie Thomae, FOR THEIR GENEROSITY. ALSO, BIG THANKS to Jackie Unger at Comal Event Rentals for her support.

A BIG THANK YOU TO THE H-E-B- TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS FOUNDATION FOR ITS $5,000 DONATION TO THE ENDOWMENT FUND.

2014 --A VERY BUSY YEAR!

ALL OF OUR TRADITIONAL FUNDRAISING AND THE YEAR OF THE MCKENNA FOUNDATION CHALLENGE GRANT--

We raised $35,330, received matching fund of $25,000 from the McKenna Foundation, and added $60,330 to our Endowment Fund at the New Braunfels Area Community Foundation.

TOTAL: $110, 330 IN ITS FIRST YEAR!

The Endowment Fund will provide additional, steady revenue in addition to our traditional fundraising activities.(Bookstore, Book Sales, On-line Books)

Gift Table for the Past Presidents- a FOL coffee mug filled with candies, a beautiful name tag, and a gift certificate to the Bookstore.

Nancy, Susie, and Claudia spent three Saturdays at the Farmer's Market, selling cookbooks, promoting the Friends and getting the word out about the McKenna Foundation Challenge Grant.
