The Friends of the New Braunfels Public Library, Inc. has registered with the 2020 Big Give San Antonio as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization in order to participate in this year's Big Give SA and have online donations directed to our organization through the Big Give SA website.  For additional information please see the letters below from our presidents.

Update: August 24, 2020

Fellow Friends, Big Give San Antonio 2020 will soon be with us.  September 3rd is the opening day and FOL is part of it. Note that Thursday, September 10th, is the BIG DAY for Big Give. (with prizes at stake and also the final day).  Our goal is to fund AWE learning computers for the new Westside Branch Library, and to provide additional funds for Library programs in this pandemic year.

  • Donations open Thursday, September 3.  However, September 10th is the BIG DAY.  Your donation the 10th helps us win prizes (more money).  Stay tuned for more details on our prize money strategy.
  • Default method to donate is via credit card online.  To donate online, go tohttps://www.thebiggivesa.org/organizations/friends-of-new-braunfels-public-library   (You can also go to “thebiggivesa.org.”  Then click the “search” tab and enter “Friends of the New Braunfels Public Library.”)  Minimum online donation is $10.  We also take checks (or cash).
  • You can also help by spreading the word and encouraging potential donors (more below).

  • First, donate.  Any donation helps.  Details about how to do that are above in the Essentials.
  • Second, get the word out to friends, relatives, and neighbors.  Encourage them to help us.

AWE Learning Computers provide early and readily available access to educational opportunities.  This could be a real game changer for our children, especially for those living in an underserved area of our community.  More information is athttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHxCLhFtrhE
This is also the biggest fund-raising activity we have for the remainder of the year.  As you know, the pandemic has shut down our two most important means of fund raising: Bookstore and Annual Book Sale.  These activities typically raise more than $60,000 per year for library programs.  We won’t have nearly that much money this year.
